![]() ![]() The system is basically the same the main differences are in the origins of the characters and their starting equipment. The Book of Knights offers a very slimmed down version of those rules which can be supplemented with info from the main book as needed.ĭetails for character generation are different for knights in Phase One than in the later (Phase 3) system presented in Pendragon and Knights Adventurous. If you want to play something different, such as a Pictish knight, a knight from elsewhere in Britain (Cumbria, Wales, etc.) or even a female knight (yes, I allow them to exist, but they're a rarity, so they're subject to GM approval), those rules can be found in the Advanced Character Generation chapter of the main rulebook. The very basic (beginning) character generation in the 4th edition rulebook assumes your character is a Christian Cymric knight born in Logres. It should also be noted that if a knight character sires any children who make it to majority (18+), the firstborn son will eventually take over the manor and become a knight, allowing the previous character to retire, so that is also a possibility for a second character once we've advanced into the campaign a number of years. A quest could easily be launched to find a cure/solution to the issue with the waiting character taking over briefly to help. That character could easily be a cousin, sibling, friend, or even a lady, priest, or druid. ![]() PENDRAGON SHEET FATHER PDFIf you don't own the rules at all, I recommend going to DriveThruRPG and picking up the PDF of either the 4th edition rulebook or the slimmed-down player's manual, Book of Knights.īecause a character can easily be laid up from wounds in battle, disease, or even magic (just to name a few of the hazards of being a knight), I recommend everybody have a second (and possibly even a third) character waiting in the wings. Notes: If you own a previous or older edition of the Pendragon rules, don't sweat it we'll work around the minor changes between editions. ![]() System: King Arthur Pendragon, 4th edition Win great renown with your laudable deeds and feats of arms, perhaps even winning the right to carve your name into the Round Table itself as the story of Arthur and Camelot unfolds around you.
